    The PF Series
If someone asked you to describe a piano, you’d probably describe it as a shiny black, brown or white body supported by three legs made up of keys. That’s a reasonable answer! After all that is the archetype of the everyday piano. [+]

Design your own piano! And meet one of our creations, “The Grasshopper”. Perfect for the outdoors, The Grasshopper doesn’t need a pianist to enchant you and your guests! It intends to do that all on its own. At 8e Art, under the PF series banner, we see the piano as a canvas on which to create something truly unique; Inanimate objects turned to art. Considerable cost and workmanship go into creating unconventional artistic pianos and the process from beginning to end is just like ordering custom furniture or building a house from scratch. So if you decide your piano is ready for a revamp don’t hesitate to contact PF series atelier and our team will transform it...

We start by asking the correct questions: What architectural style do you feel an affinity towards? What colors do you like? Do you imagine it to be gilded, ornate, baroque, vintage, or funky? Should it be hand painted or hand carved? What’s the size of the room you intend to place it? The process is gradual, ending up somewhere else than where we started, just like a musical composition; it is a very fun and challenging undertaking ... One of the PF series' first creations “The Grasshopper” is an upright piano painted the color green with a glass opening that lets you enjoy the keys jumping up and down, you can as well insert a disk into it! The “grasshopper” has performed in many events and is always the talk of the party.

    Kanj Workshop band
Kanj started playing the Kanoun at the age of 8. He was part of orchestras in different local and international festivals since the age of 15 and accompanied many big singers like Demis Roussos, Wadih el Safi Majida El Roumi, and many others. [+]

Achieving all of that with the inspiration of his father, respected oud, trombone player and conductor Mr. Michel Assad.

In  2007, he focused on building his career with 8e Art as a soloist, performing in many concerts, festivals, private events and weddings.

Kanj attended many master classes with Kanoun prodigies in Istanbul to become the pioneer of the “10 fingers” Turkish Technique, a practice till then unknown in the Arab world.

He is a kanoun virtuoso. His advanced technique and deep feelings influenced by many musical cultures (Lebanese, Egyptian, Greek, Spanish and Turkish) bring wealth of knowledge to the variety of styles he performs. One can even say that he turns the kanoun into the piano of oriental music.

Always searching to exceed himself, he developed a stand that allows him to carry the kanoun (a 1st for kanoun players) and walk around using a wireless microphone, for better interaction with his audience.

Today Kanj pushes his boundaries even further by developing his “Workshop”. Known to be an innovator on his instrument, his new project will take you through the magic of the Andalusia and Tunisian vibes in a new setup inspired by a painter’s workshop as he plays on 2 different kanouns, each placed on a tripod. That led him to develop a new technique, giving his show richness in sound.

    Big R Abian band
“A Mediterranean Journey” - At 10 years old, Big R Abian started playing piano, and then at the age of 18 he shifted to classical guitar. He perfected both instruments by enriching himself with harmony and composition classes. [+]

He played different styles such as jazz, fusion, funk, and performed in many concerts and festivals in Lebanon and abroad, such as the SOL festival in Palermo in 1999, where he was elected to represent the Roland Company.

In 2004 he discovered Turkish music and was totally fascinated by it and that was when his journey with the oriental instrument the Baglama started. Ever since, he constantly goes back and fourth to Istanbul, attending master classes in order to develop new techniques and enhance his ethnic feelings.

In order to implement that style onto his first love the guitar, he developed a technique that is truly an innovation: playing quartertones on an ordinary guitar! You will surely be amazed of the ethnic oriental sounds that come out from his instrument, offering richness in both melody and harmony.

So at the end of the day, Big R Abian is a true innovator, a panoply of styles and musical knowledge which makes him not only an inspiring musician but also a great composer and arranger. He shares his talent with different bands from 8e Art entertainment but also has his own project “A Mediterranean Journey”, which revolves around his special technique and new sound.

    The Swan solo
The Moving Piano: After the famous green piano that plays on its own, crafted by 8e Art and known under the name of « The Grasshopper », we present to you « The Swan », the new born of 8e Art! Imagine a grand piano walking around and spreading its music in the streets of Beirut. [+]

This concept is an innovation. It was conceived by 8e Art and its execution was made possible thanks to Mr. Jad Wehbe - ITech and Engineer, Mr. Gaby Mike, to whom we are very grateful. This is how it goes: The grand piano is placed on a stand with wheels to which a bench is attached. The pianist drives it with a treadle, which he controls with his foot. We have to say that it is a big challenge to play the piano and « drive » it at the same time! The Swan was created for the inauguration of the Emall Banking of Bank Audi where it greeted and surprised everyone. The Swan is our new baby and we are very happy to present it to you!

Beware he might catch you by surprise!
